Sue's challenge

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is doing well.

As you know I keep participating in the monthly challenge at Sue's Cricut and Crafts. This month is no different.
I used two different Itty Bitty's for these cards. I used my Faber-Castell gold & silver pens to color them in. Very CAS.
Hopefully you have had a chance to check out this week's sale at Unity. I'm heading there now :)
Have a great week!!

I said I would

A few weeks ago Clearsnap had a Twitter chat with Susan Weckesser. It was GREAT! During this chat we got on the topic of texture paste. I've had it for a while but I was afraid to use it. Susan really encouraged me to give it a try. I told her I would for her challenge and here it is....

Since I don't have any tools to apply the texture paste I used the tools I have all the time...my fingers. We talked about that too ;)
While making this I realized a couple things.
The canvas I used was from the Michael's dollar bins. It originally had fruit or something on it. Although ok for altering it's not taut enough to stamp on.
Which leads me to my next discovery.
After stamping the image with StazOn I then colored it with Big Brush pens. Since I used a clear stamp I figured I'd stamp over the the image again once I finished the coloring. I guess I didn't wait long enough because instead of adding the black back on the image it took off the brush pen and left white lines. I actually like it that way.
Hope you'll join in the challenge on Susan Weckesser's blog.
*I know the chat was with Clearsnap but my Gelatos were feeling so neglected.*

Scrap cards

Hi Everyone & Happy Friday!

This weeks cards are made using the scraps from a couple 6x6 paper pads.

For this card I cut the strips into 1" squares and then cut the squares on the diagonal. It took me a few tries to get a quilt look that I liked. I used the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 mini deck, Prima flower, Unity sentiment, and Colorbox scarlet ink.
Sometimes I cut paper with the intent to make a card but it never get made. This is one of those. I finally inked up this stamp from the Unity/Donna Downey Create Today set and added some ribbon. I'll add a sentiment to the inside when I need to use it. The paper is from the Cosmo Cricket mini deck I used on the quilt card. The ink is Colorbox night.
The final card used a scrap from My Minds Eye Stella & Rose. I've had a package of diecut borders and finally used one. I added a Prima flower, a Unity sentiment, and a rhinestone.
*Throw back Thursday sales at Unity
*For anyone doing Project Life I found out that 6x6 Making Memories and 6x8 Simple Stories Snap page protectors will work in a 3-ring binder.
* The new challenge at Sue's Cricut and Crafts is posted. Get out those  Unity Christmas stamps and enter! Please :)
edited to add: My prize for the Jan.-March prize just came. All I can say is WOW!

PL cards

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had an awesome Easter!

I have been working on my Project Life....ish album lately. I realized that what is taking time for me is making the filler cards. I'm a little reluctant to buy any since I already have paper, stamps, inks, etc. Enough to make lots, and lots of filler cards. ;) Since I am going to be alone most of the weekend I decided to make some in advance.

I used the March kit of the month to make these 4x4 filler cards.
The We R Memory Keepers pocket pages that I found at Michael's have 4x6 and 4x4 pockets. I really like their photo pages because they're not flimsy at all. And that 4x4 pocket is usually just the right size for cropped photos.

I'm sure you know there's an awesome sale at Unity. Be sure to check it out.
Have a FABULOUS week!!
