FWF

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday!

I managed to squeeze out a little time today to make a card. It has been a busy, family filled November! I loved every minute of it. I can't believe tomorrow is December 1st. I barely have any shopping done. How about you?

My little great niece is wanting some attention so have a fun week!

U.S.A.

I had so much fun making the mini love canvas that I decided to make another one. Since we just had the elections and Veteran's Day I wanted to make a patriotic mini.

I first primed the canvas with gesso.
I then added the blueberry gelato all around the sides of the canvas and spread the color with a wet paintbrush.
I did the stripes on the top the same way using the red cherry gelato. As you can see it doesn't take much of the gelatos to get a lot of color.  When the gelatos dried it was time to embellish.
For the USA I textured the chipboard letters by tapping on the gesso. They were then colored using the gelatos and put on with foam squares. The Mrs. Grossman flag stickers and ribbon I found in my "collection". I punched out some tiny stars from paper that I ran through my Xyron to add around the sides.
Here is the finished canvas. Since I have two more canvases what should I do next? Maybe St. Patrick's Day since I have the green set of Gelatos. :)

I am in LOVE

For a long time I have been seeing projects and videos using these things called Gelatos by Faber-Castell. I loved what I was seeing but I couldn't find them at any of my local stores. This past week when I went craft shopping I found something amazing. GELATOS at Joann's!! They had all the color packs....and a coupon. I am now the owner of three color packs and the black/white pack.
I couldn't wait to use them so here is my first project.
I bought a pack of little canvases from Michael's a while ago and finally broke them out. I primed the canvas with gesso then spread the light pink gelato with my fingers in the middle and used a wet brush with the red gelato. (They're so much fun). Next I stamped the script and music notes (7Gypsies/Hampton Art) and toned it down with more pink. On the chipboard letters I tapped on the gesso to give them texture then smeared them with the red gelato. I added some Maya road embellishments and a Ben Franklin quote around the sides.
I'm entering this in the Design Memory Craft thankful challenge. Love is definitely something I'm thankful for :)

FWF and the final Chick Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone!

It's been a busy week for me because my sister Pam is in town again. I love it when she's here. I just wish she would move back instead of visiting. Her grandchildren love to create things and you can see their creations here. She is coming over tonight and tomorrow. My other sister, Kim (I have 4 of them) is coming over tomorrow too. Along with her daughter and and her kids. I'm going to have a FULL house. I LOVE it!

Anyway, Chick Challenges with Ippity is having their final challenge. It's been so much fun entering the challenges and I'm sad that they are ending. Here is my entry:
I used my watercolor crayons and some Stickles. I love the watercolor crayons because I can color the image then add the water. Much neater and I can stay in the lines :)

Have a FABULOUS week!

A new technique

Ranger and Dreamweaver Stencils showed a technique that I wanted to try. Although I don't have any Dreamweaver stencils, I do have a few jars of Ranger embossing powder and some regular stencils. I used my Xyron to add adhesive to a piece of card stock. Then I soaped the back of the stencil with Ivory soap and put it down on the card stock...soap side down. The next step is to add the evergreen embossing powder. I then lifted the stencil and poured the seafoam white powder on top of everything. The final step is heat embossing it all. Here is my finished card. Since I used an ivy stencil I wanted to keep it simple and masculine.

November Challenge

Sue's Cricut and Crafts posted the November challenge. The last one for 2012.  This month is challenge is RIBBON.
"Use ribbon in any/all creative ways you can think of for your Christmas cards!"
You have until midnight CST Nov. 20th to link your cards. This one will be fun as I have lots of ribbon.

Since I was the only entry last month I won. Sue sent me a really cute Stampin' Up stamp set and some Stickles.
All the stamps are small and perfect for gift tags.
These are just a few of them. The set has 24 stamps and I made 3 of each.
Thanks to Sue's challenges I have plenty of cards and gift tags. :)

I hope you find time to play along this month. Here's the link again: Sue's Cricut and Crafts

Family crafting

My sister from Florida is in town again watching her grandchildren while their parents are away. She brought the kids over to visit. They love coming to my house because I have crafting stuff and video games :) The youngest (3 years old), Karyna, wanted to paint. Out came the watercolor crayons and canvas.
Hers is on the left and her brother ((almost 11 and a twin), Gaheris,  did the one on the right. The other twin, Corben, wanted to paint a birdhouse.
The colors should give you an idea of where we're from ;)
When I was showing the kids how to use the watercolor crayons I made this ATC.
I had brought out the Ranger Perfect pearls mists and sprayed the card. I really like the effect. I'm really happy with the demo ATC :)
I need to go to the craft store soon for more birdhouses and canvas. Maybe I'll pick up some boxes too.
