PCC #73 and FWF

Hi Everyone!

When I saw this week's PaperCrafter's Corner challenge I knew exactly what stamps I wanted to use.

I was definitely drawn to the moon. Here's what I created:

The stamps are from the January 2014 KOTM. I started with a royal blue paper and heat embossed the stamped images with WOW white embossing powder. I then used 3 shades of Colorbox blue inks with the lightest color in the center. It needed something else so I added two banners edged in the light blue.
Stephanie, at PCC, has started a a new weekly feature called Papercrafting in Twenty! Every Tuesday she gives ideas for creating a project in 20 minutes or less. just for fun I timed myself on this card. I made it in 19 minutes.

I have a couple more cards to share. Using scraps and Unity. :)

Have a great week!

CraftySteals

Hi Everyone!

Time for the Third Thursday challenge at Crafty Steals. This time it's a sketch challenge:

I decided to actually cut a 6x6. Actually a couple. First I cut off a 4x6 piece to use for my pocket page album. :) I created my card with the left overs:

Products used are: Unity sentiment stamp, Colorbox ink, MME double sided paper, and a fiber from my stash.
I liked it so much that I created another card with the same scraps from the other card. They were already out....why not use them now?

I used the same product minus the fiber. Thanks to the sketch these two cards came together quickly.

FWF & PCC week 72

Hi Everyone!

It's another day of challenges for me today.

First up....PaperCrafter's Corner #72. I love the inspiration piece:

I chose to use the colors and made this card:

This also fits with the DCWV October challenge. Made, of course, with scraps.
And here are a few more....made with Unitystamps & scraps:

Have a GREAT week!

A couple challenges done...

Hi Everyone!

Unity Stamp Company has a monthly "Be Inspired" challenge. Here is this month's inspiration:
I chose the sketch to create my card:

This is my first time inking up this cute witch named Hazel Girl. I even used ink to color her in. The Colorbox crafters ink have so much ink in them that all I did was dip my brush into the pad and get to work.

I'm not sure if I'm outside the box or not but I used Unity's Grandma's Needlepoint designed by Susan for my gift cards/tags.

To color them I used my daughter's Prismacolor pencils. I'm so glad she didn't take them to school. These stamps are adorable and little....perfect for these 3" cards.

I'll be back on Friday for FWF and Papercrafter's Corner's Challenge.

It's FWF & PCC challenge 71!

Hi Everyone!

I usually don't make Halloween cards but the challenge at PaperCrafter's Corner has this great inspiration:

Since I have a couple Halloween stamps in my Unity stash I thought I'd give it a try.

After looking through Pinterest, I found myself playing with my inks on a scrap of white paper. Just having fun blending the colors. I added the tree first. Then I thought it needed some bats. This stamp had a few bats but I only inked one of them. The 'trick or treat' was all in a line that wouldn't fit the space so....post it notes to the rescue for masking. I am so happy to have a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up.

Of course I have a couple more scrap cards to share too.

These are all made with scraps, embossing folders, punches, Prima flowers, Colorbox ink, and UNITY stamps!
Have a great week and I hope to see you posting some awesome Unity cards on PaperCrafter's Corner.

Moxie Fab

Hi Everyone!

For WCMD Moxie Fab World had 2 challenges. I finally got some time to do the second one.
Here's the inspiration:
And, here's my card:
I found this Amy Tangerine paper with the varying shades of color like the inspiration piece.

WCMD!

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was World Card Making Day and I had to make some cards for it....right?
Moxie Fab World posted this sketch for inspiration:

Very simple....just the way I like it. Unity also has their monthly 'Be Inspired" challenge going on:

So I combined the two and came up with this:

I colored the Unity flower stamp and the word 'joy' using Derwent pastel pencils.

PCC #70 & FWF

Hi Everyone!

This week's PaperCrafter's Corner challenge is PERFECT for using up a few scraps.

And...here's my take on it....using scraps:

You really should play along. The challenges are fun. Steph even gives you ideas in case you draw a blank. ;) There's even a PRIZE! So, go check it out and I hope to see your creation!
It's been fun making cards using just scraps. Here are a few more:

These are all done using Unity stamps.

I am spending my day redoing scrapbook pages from 1999. I really don't like them at all! Photos cut into shapes, sticker sneeze, poor matting, decorative scissors....You name it, I probably did it. Have you ever redone your early pages? They'll be put into project life pages. Maybe then I can look at them without my eyes bouncing all over the page!  The following few years are alright. I won't be redoing those.
******EDITED TO ADD*****
After reading Rachel's comment and looking through my 1999 pages I decided NOT to redo all of them. Just the worst of them. I started scrapbooking to focus on the pictures. On some of my pages the pictures are lost in the colors and 'embellishments'. If the pictures are the focus then they'll stay....and still show the "evolution of our scrapbooks". Thanks Rachel for the reminder. :)
