Memorial Day PCC #101

Hi Everyone! Happy Memorial Day.
I hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend!

This week's 101st challenge at PaperCrafters Corner is patriotic themed in honor of Memorial Day. This week also has a red, white, and blue requirement.

Awesome inspiration, huh?
I remembered I had some Americana scraps in my stash so I created a set of pocket page cards.

I even pulled out my Family Treasures alphabet punches. :)
If you've been wanting the WRMK pinwheel punch board, you might want to play along this week. It's the special prize this week!

I have another projects to show you too. Does anyone remember The Beadery? They make beaded banners among other things. I made this banner a long time ago.

I have this hanging on my door all summer. When I went to put it up I found out that it was broken. I couldn't have Memorial Day without a flag so....I spent last night and this morning beading. It is now proudly hanging on my door.

Enjoy the day and always remember those that sacrificed their lives for us.

PCC #100!!!

Hi  Everyone!
I hope you had and an awesome week.

This is challenge #100 for PaperCrafters Corner!
Because of this milestone there are 3 inspiration magazine covers.
Because it's their 100th challenge there was one requirement. We have to use the numbers 100,10,1, or 0. My first thought was to use the last image and then incorporate a binary code. But then something happened this week that made me take a different route.

See this little kitty?
Her name is Princess Tiger Lily, Tiger for short. She is just about 17 years old. And, as of Monday, she is no longer with us. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I still have a hard time keeping the tears at bay. So, this week's card is in honor of our kitty.

I chose the second cover and created this card.
I found the quote online that matched my feelings. Although we are all sad now Tiger gave us lots of reasons to smile.
The crochet flower that I made a long time ago, a couple die cut leaves, and patterned paper was all I needed to complete the card.

Congrats to Steph and PCC for 100 fabulous challenges!

PCC #99!

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a good week.

Isn't this just an awesome inspiration piece?
Steph has also started a new blog series called Tuesday's Tips for Quick Creating.  The one tip I responded with is about the One Sheet Wonder cards. I've been wanting to try it. Since this week's challenge piece has a rainbow of colors I remembered I had this paper in my stash:

I don't even remember when I got it. Anyway....The cards I make are smaller than an A2 so I had to create my own template. I really just cut the paper keeping in mind the size of my cards (3.5x5)
I ended up making 8 cards!! :)

A couple of close-ups.

I used a couple Unity stamps and Spellbinders dies. They were finished in no time. I like this technique. I think I might even make sets for my sisters for Christmas. :)

You really need to check out PaperCrafters Corner. There's always something fun going on. And...they just acquired Craft Storage Ideas so now there's even more!

Have a SUPER WONDERFUL week!

Mother's Day cards

Hello Everyone!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

PaperCrafters Corner has a special challenge going on this week in honor of Mother's Day.
Here's the inspiration:

This week, using the inspiration, we are to make something related to Mother's Day. My Mom passed away almost 12 years ago. My mother in law passed 22 years ago. So, I don't make Mother's Day cards. Until today. I decided to make cards for my sisters. All 4 of them. I couldn't make just 1. Each one was made with a different part of the inspiration.

The tulips that the girl is holding

The flowers on the mom's apron
 The mom's blue dress
 The girl's yellow dress
I hope my sisters like their cards.

This week's prize is special too. A Project Life Midnight core kit and album. If you haven't played yet this would be a good week to start. :)

Super fast triple layer

Hi everyone!
Happy (i)NSD Weekend.

I have been trying to get some scrapping done but I took a break to make a card for this week's PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Monday challenge #97.
Yesterday was also my birthday. What better way to spend the day than by NSD SCRAPPING!

This week's inspiration is so colorful! I love it!

I just had to go with the rainbow, right?

The paper is from a pad of MAMBI Cards. I bought it for doing project life but this one was PERFECT for the challenge. I used Spellbinders ATC dies, matted the layers, added the banner and Happy Birthday and DONE! Super quick. Less than 10 minutes. My last triple layer card took longer just because of the measuring. I couldn't believe how fast this was. If you like the triple layer cards you might want to check out the Spellbinders ATC dies.
Have a great week!
