Mother's Day cards

Hello Everyone!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

PaperCrafters Corner has a special challenge going on this week in honor of Mother's Day.
Here's the inspiration:

This week, using the inspiration, we are to make something related to Mother's Day. My Mom passed away almost 12 years ago. My mother in law passed 22 years ago. So, I don't make Mother's Day cards. Until today. I decided to make cards for my sisters. All 4 of them. I couldn't make just 1. Each one was made with a different part of the inspiration.

The tulips that the girl is holding

The flowers on the mom's apron
 The mom's blue dress
 The girl's yellow dress
I hope my sisters like their cards.

This week's prize is special too. A Project Life Midnight core kit and album. If you haven't played yet this would be a good week to start. :)

Super fast triple layer

Hi everyone!
Happy (i)NSD Weekend.

I have been trying to get some scrapping done but I took a break to make a card for this week's PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Monday challenge #97.
Yesterday was also my birthday. What better way to spend the day than by NSD SCRAPPING!

This week's inspiration is so colorful! I love it!

I just had to go with the rainbow, right?

The paper is from a pad of MAMBI Cards. I bought it for doing project life but this one was PERFECT for the challenge. I used Spellbinders ATC dies, matted the layers, added the banner and Happy Birthday and DONE! Super quick. Less than 10 minutes. My last triple layer card took longer just because of the measuring. I couldn't believe how fast this was. If you like the triple layer cards you might want to check out the Spellbinders ATC dies.
Have a great week!

Two PCC Challenges

Hi Everyone!

This week PaperCrafter's Corner has TWO challenges. The first is week 96 for the Magazine Monday challenge. Here's the inspiration piece:
The second is the challenge for Earth Day. The requirement is that the "entry must be a papercraft project – it must somehow incorporate paper – and that it must include an element of recycling, re-purposing or re-using, and be submitted by the deadline."

I started with the Earth Day challenge. I had a cigar box that I've been meaning to decorate. This challenge got me moving. I didn't want to do a lot to it because it will probably be tucked on a shelf. I used a K& CO pad that I bought a long time ago. After I finished the box I had lots of scraps. So in honor of Earth Day I used them up making cards.
As you can see the paper I chose for the box also fits the weekly challenge. The colors (green and black) and butterflies from the inspiration are all in the paper. The cards even fit inside the box!
That's it for me. Have a great week!

PCC #95

Hi Everyone!
This week's inspiration at PaperCrafter's Corner image is so fun.
It got me moving to create a card that I've been wanting to make for a while.
It's very simple but fun to create. I used Prismacolor pencils but it can easily be made with paper scraps, ink, paint.

It's a BEAUTIFUL day today so I'm getting myself outside.
Have a great week!

PCC #94

Hi everyone! I just have a quick post today.
This week's PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Monday Inspiration was easy for me. As soon as I saw the denim with red I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Sorry about the poor photo. Evening light is rarely good. :)
I used a very old denim paper from my stash and a Hero Arts stamp. I used Prismacolor pencils to color in the image. I decided I would stamp a sentiment on the inside on the this card.

Have a GREAT week!

It's week 93!

Hi Everyone!

This is week number 93 at PaperCrafter's Corner. With Easter being on Sunday it's no surprise that this weeks inspiration is Easter themed.
Although you can do just about anything with an image like this I picked one egg for my card.
Can you guess which one?
I even got to use up some scraps.
Here are a few more with scraps:

This last card is done using shimmer sprays. I never really liked them at all. They never sprayed straight. I was about to toss them all until I saw a video on a different way to use them. All you do is wet the watercolor paper and drip, not spray, the shimmer sprays on it.
I love the look. Guess I'm not tossing those sprays afer all.

Have a Happy & Blessed Easter!

A couple challenges

Hi Everyone!
Today's post is for some challenges.

This is week #92 for Papercrafter's Corner. Here's the inspiration:
It is also time for the Third Thursday challenge at Crafty Steals. For them it's use your stash....journal card, washi tape, and a punch.
Out came the supplies. I've been in the mood to make some cards with neglected supplies so this gave me a great opportunity.
I used the cake as inspiration for this card. It's the first time inking these Unity stamps. I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils. I also pulled out my EK border punch.
I had a little trouble with the Crafty Steals challenge. None of my journal cards worked with my washi tape. So I just used the back of one that has a dot grid.
I used 2 washi tapes, 2 punches, and one journal card.
While I had my washi tape out I thought I would use up some more of it.

Have a great week!

a modeling paste experiment.

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday I was using my stencils, modeling paste, and Gelatos to make these two cards.

On this one I used Gelatos to color the background. I then used some modeling paste and a DCWV stencil. After the paste dried I added the Spellbinders 'Happy Birthday" and some punched flowers.
This card started out with black card stock. I mixed several colors of Gelatos with the modeling paste because I wanted a rainbow. I again used a DCWV stencil, the Spellbinders die, and a punched flower.
It was on this card that I began my experiment. I made too much colored modeling paste when I was making the card. I really didn't want to waste it but I didn't have anything to put it in. What to do? I took out some wax paper and another stencil and put on the paste.
Would the idea in my head work?
Once the paste dried I tried to peel it off the wax paper. Nope. Then I used my xacto knife. Yep. Now I had a bunch of little 'tile' shapes.
Here are the cards I made:
The stencil I used is The Crafter's Workshop Mini Deco Doily (Balzer Designs).
Parts of this one has crystal accents to give it some shine.
I made some more 'tiles' this morning:
I used the Crafter's Workshop Mini Layered Beads (Balzer Designs) to make this card:
A little bit of the Mary Englebreitt style with a Unity stamp.

These are cards that I would probable hand deliver because the 'tiles' can be fragile. A clear topcoat would help make them sturdier.
I hope you enjoy this technique for making your own tiles. I'd love to see what you make if you decide to give it a try.

A little mixed media

Hi Everyone!

It's time again for another Papercrafter's Corner Magazine Monday challenge
# 91
I love all the COLOR!
For this challenge I was going to make a card but decided on a mixed media canvas instead.
I used Clearsnap Crafter's Inks, Stickles, Scrappy Cat and Target alphabet stamps, a butterfly pin, beads and a dream catcher that I made. I found the quote online and I think it fits great with the dream catcher.

Have a WONDERFUL week!

PCC #90

Hi Everyone!

This week's PaperCrafter's Corner challenge is another shamrock inspired cover.

For this challenge the card I made was inspired by the shamrock.

washi tape, heart punch, gem, Michael's $1 stamp

The card probably took about 20 minutes to make.
This next card took less. Maybe 10 minutes.

Prima flower, Cosmo Cricket paper, doily, Unity stamp

For this next pair of cards I was just playing with a Spellbinder's border punch.

Spellbinders border die, Unity stamp, CTMH stamp

They were fun to make. :)

Have a GREAT WEEK!

Birthday cards!

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone is well & crafting.

Before Christmas I cleaned out my stash of cards. Some went to friends but most went to the headstart program where my sister works. So it's time to make more cards.
I think I was reading Stephanie's (from PaperCrafter's Corner) mind this week. I created this card the day before she posted the new challenge.

I got a Derwent Artbar set for Christmas and wanted to play with them. Artbars are sort of like Gelatos in how they're used. I stamped the Unity Autumn Grunge leaves using the artbars instead of ink. I didn't really like it so I took a baby wipe and blended the colors. Up close you can still see the leaves. I added a little texture paste and a Susan K. Weckesser stencil to finish it off.

See what I mean? All that green?
So I made another green card.

For this card I took a scrap piece of white cardstock, a Plaid stencil, and every green inkpad I own to make the squares. I used a birthday stamp from CTMH on the tag.

I also made a second card but with primary colors of Colorbox inks.

Next up are two cards for the DCWV monthly challenge.
The sketch:

And my cards.

I used the DCWV Midnight Chic (my favorite) paper pad on both cards. The first card has fussy cut flowers and Ranger pearls. The second one has a Spellbinders border.

This next card is for Unity's friends with Flair.
I used the flower from the 'What's up Gnomey' and a single sentiment.

These last two cards are just for fun. I fell in love with the Bloom Art Screen from ColorBox and won it on a challenge.

For both cards I used a cotton ball to apply the ColorBox inks. A gem in the flower centers along with a Unity sentiment finished off the cards.

Have a great week!!
