The last FWF of 2013

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a WONDERFUL Christmas! Mine was great! The annual Christmas Eve party was at my house this year. We even Skyped with two of my sisters that were unable to make it in. That was FUN!
This is the last FWF of 2013. I can't believe the year is almost over. My crafting supplies are usually put away for Christmas but I had to get out a few things so I could play along today.
I used my new Bee Happy Hexagons and Color Box plum ink and made this simple card. Although it's hard to see I added yellow Stickles to the flower centers.

Unity is having an end of the year inventory sale. It's a great time to pick up the stamps you didn't get from Santa and......

I wish you all a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas Love Campaign

I have been having fun with the challenges for the Christmas Love Campaign. The most recent one is a challenge from the designer chat with Kelly Marie Alvarez from Lawn Fawn. The challenge is to
"Make a card or two or three. Give it to a neighbour or a stranger."
And here's my cards:
I made 4 of each.

I'll be giving them to neighbors and random people when I go out shopping.

Be sure to check out the Christmas Love Campaign Facebook page :)

An artsy week

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a good week.

My daughter is a Graphic Communication major and the art club she's in has been having fund raisers. They sold baked goods, ceramic mugs, artwork, cards......anything crafty. She asked if I could make some cards.

I made the up quickly using Unity rubber. That is the rubber between the actual stamps. I thought they would be more "artsy". They didn't sell so I have 4 more Christmas cards made. :)

She also made a few little watercolors. I made one too.

Here's one of hers:
I'm happy it didn't sell because now it's mine!
I think she sold these three.

Well, that's all for now! Have an AWESOME WEEK!

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a nice dinner then my daughter & I went shopping. It was fun! I really like Black Friday shopping. Of course, I avoid Walmart. That place can get CRAZY!

I made these for the Christmas Love Campaign and gave them away when I was out shopping today.

Have a GREAT WEEK!

More Issac

Hi everyone!

I really love Snow Peep Isaac. He's just too CUTE!

A little coloring with Sharpies, a little shine with Colorbox Smooch, and some Christmas washi from Michaels.

I hope everyone is shopping Unity's Brown Thursday Sale. A few things already hopped in my cart!

I wish you all a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

A challenging challenge

I saw the post on the 7 GYPSIES blog for a vintage Christmas challenge. I wasn't going to enter because I have very little 7 GYPSIES. What little I do have is not Christmas. I really wanted to enter so I gathered up what I had and started thinking and searching the web. I saw the 3d paper stars and decided to give it a try. These are the end result.

I used the 7GYPSIES Very Beautiful music & script stamps on 3 of them and the other 4 are paper scraps. A few gems, some metallic Smooch ink, and fibers and I now have some star ornaments.
Won't they look pretty on my Christmas tree?

Something different

Hi Everyone!

Did you see the post on the Graphic 45 blog?

These were made by Miranda.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL?

I decided I needed to make one. I made dream catchers for my kids when they were little but nothing like these. The search began to find metal rings. It took awhile but I found them. Mine are a lot smaller than these ones.

I used stamps from two KOMs, watercolors, Offray ribbon, and embroidery floss.

Have a great week!

Handmade Gifts

For the Hand-Made Christmas challenge at Susan K. Weckesser's blog I made wristers for my niece.
Last year I made myself a shawl with matching wristers. My sister kept saying it was an "old lady shawl". That was until she was in town and realized how warm it was. She wanted me to make her one! She now has her own "old lady shawl". The wristers I made were a big hit and that led me to making lots of them. I lost count on how many set I made. The one I didn't make though, was for my niece. When I saw this challenge I knew I had to make her wristers.

I used Lion Brand homespun yarn for the shawls and wristers. It sooooo soft and warm!

Christmas Love Campaign

I've been wanting to make something for the Susan K. Weckesser Christmas Love Campaign. It's such a great idea! I decided to make some cards to give to strangers.

Both cards use Unity stamps.

I'll be back with another project soon :)

I took the angel cards to the local Dollar Tree and dropped them in their shopping baskets. The envies said 'open me' so hopefully someone will.

Aunt Julie

Hi Everyone!
I wasn't able to play FWF last week because I was busy. Busy making this....

These are a few of the pages I made for the tribute album I made about my Aunt Julie. She passed away November 1st. She was 82. My family wanted pictures to show at the funeral home. Since I inherited lots of old photos I made the book. I watched as the book was passed around. I listened as people shared stories. It reminded me why scrapbooking, in any form, is important.  I gave the book to my cousin because she was Aunt Julie's Godchild.
RIP Aunt Julie!

Filler cards

Hi Everyone!

I almost didn't have anything to post today. I spent some time trying to make a card....or two. I didn't like anything I was making. My brain has been on working on my PL album. So......I decided to make a few filler cards. I bought some Halloween washi from Michael's for $.99 a roll and I really wanted to use it.

The first card is from 'fright night' and the other two are from the August 2013 KOM. For the scarecrow I actually broke out my daughter's Prismacolor pencils.

Have a great week! And don't eat too much candy on Halloween. :)

Unity & Studio Calico

Hi Everyone!

I was at T.J.Maxx recently and found a 6x6 Studio Calico paper pad. I wanted it for Project Life. After cutting off the 4" needed for PL I was left with lots of 2" strips. The colors are all neutral and I thought they would work for some masculine cards.

Have a great week!!

Feel Better

Hi Everyone!

This week I have a couple get well cards to share. It's been a quite a week in my family. My nephew took off his toe nail with a lawnmower. His older sister has an infected fingernail. And a couple of us here at home have colds. Me included. So, we all need to feel better soon.

I'm not sure about the second card. I think I over did it with the leaves.
The stamps are all from the KOMs. The ink is all Colorbox.

I think I need to go shop the Unity Sale. Sometimes it's better than chicken soup ;)

Have a FABULOUS week!

October FWF

Hi Everyone!

Just a couple CAS cards for today!
One of the orders I had from Unity included a couple sheets of paper included as a thank you. Unity is so wonderful that way! So, I used them on today's little cards.

The Itty Bitty stamps are on sale this weekend for 51% off with the code ittybitty51. The stamps I used today are itty bittys. The flowers are from Michael's dollar spot.

Have a great week everyone!
I get to spend time with my great-niece tonight and tomorrow. I picked up some Halloween crafts to keep the little princess occupied.

FWF

Hi Everyone!

I have two little cards to share today.
I used scraps and UNITY.
I've been getting some Project Life-ish pages ready for paper, stamping, and embellishing. I call it 'ish' because the layouts are not weekly. They're done by the photos. I could have 3 months on one page or 4 pages for one event. I love this way of scrapping! So much faster and easier for me.
One book has 1990 to 1993. The other one has 1994 to 1996. It feels great getting these photos scrapped...finally!
Another reason for not creating much is that my daughter is a graphics communication major. She has been working on a large drawing that requires the use of the dining room table. And, that's where I scrap! Sooooo, not much happening till her project is done. Education first!!

I'm sure you all know about Unity's sale.
Check it out here: Unity
Lots of Christmas and Halloween.

Have a great week!

Just scraps

Hi Everyone!
I was going through some of my scraps this week. I need to get rid of the ones that are too small or that I will never use. If I couldn't put together a quick card...into the trash it went.

I

Here are 3 of the cards I made. Doing this is making me ink some stamps that I haven't used in a while too :) I'll have more next week since I have lots more scraps to use or purge.
I told myself I wasn't going to shop this weekend but Unity makes it so hard! Besides I bought one of the single sentiments and promptly lost it. It's on sale again. And did you see the arrows stamp that's FREE with a $7 purchase?? I need it! :)

Have an AWESOME week!

FWF

Hi everyone!

I'm happy that Angela gave us a few more hours to play along with FWF! Here's my quick card.
My sister gave me a stack of this gold card stock and I finally used it on a card. It embosses beautifully.  The other side is shiny black and also looks great embossed.
I used my new Itty Bitty, embossing powder, Spellbinders, and an Anna Griffin embossing folder.

I'm surprised I was able to finish it because this little boy wanted to play with everything!
He followed my great niece home from the park last week. We've been trying to find his owner but so far no luck. He's not microchipped. I think someone just abandoned him hoping some little kid would take him home as he was clean and healthy. We're calling him Jack and trying to find him a forever home. I have a 15yo kitty that is not happy that he's here!

Have a GREAT week! Enjoy the Unity sales :)

Unity, Colorbox, & stencils!

Hi everyone!

Have you ever bought something and then never use it? I bought some stencils a while back.
I bought them to make cards, filler cards for project life, and mixed media. I have only really played with them. I haven't made anything. Until now.

I used a cosmetic sponge to pounce the Colorbox Inks, Berry & Chambray, to make the backgrounds using the Crafter's Workshop Numbers collage stencil. For the balloons on the berry card I took an Elf concealer brush and 'painted' with the ink. The Unity stamps are from the Feb. 11 KOM and the Simple Party Itty Bitty. The insides are stamped "balloons make every birthday better" From the KOM.
Who knew makeup tools could be so useful for paper crafts?
  Have an AWESOME week!

Playing with CHALK

Hi everyone!
I missed last week because I've been trying to work on my PL book.....and we have a friends staying with us......and my mojo went on vacation!
Anyway, I figured the best way to entice my mojo back is to color :)

I used my Derwent chalk pencils and some Decorating chalks. And of course, my newest Unity stamps.

I love these images!

Countryside Blooms is on SALE for $2.99

Scarecrow is too

Halloween Greetings is $6.99
