Every time I saw an all white card I wanted to try it. Lydia Fiedler from Splitcoast has a lot of them on Pinterest for the Dare to Get Dirty challenges. Time to give it a try. I pulled out everything I thought I might use and this is the end result. The larger flowers were made using the discards from the Spellbinders. Hope you like it.

Friends with Flair!

The first card was for Chick Challenges with Ippity. I found some plum colored cardstock and I had some Colorbox raisin ink and decided to try stamping tone on tone. I honestly didn't know what would happen. I like how it turned out. The dots on the background were made with a pencil eraser.
I really like the triple layer stamping technique so I decided to try it with paper. I cut the paper to fit the card then cut descending 1/2" 'frames'. I matted the frames on the red cardstock and stacked them. I finished it off with some ribbon, a flower, and a tag.

And it's not too late to join in on Maria Levine's Got {Ippity}? blog hop. See the post here.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Not much time this morning so just a couple cards using Unity kit of the month.. My daughter is taking her driving test again and need to practice parallel parking. What does parking have to do with driving anyway? Wish her luck!

Playing with Paint

I have been having fun playing with paint this week. It started with a video by Donna Downey. In one video she used something called Gouache (gwash) paint. It's a watercolor paint that's opaque. I fount a 24 tube pack of paint at Walmart and started playing :)

These two were both done using the gouache paint. I love the bold colors.
This one was done with regular watercolor.
And finally, This one was done with acrylic paint.
This will be my first time entering their challenges.
I already entered the last card in the Ippity challenge to use paint.
It is a sale weekend at Unity in honor of Mr. Unity's birthday. Itty bitty's are by one get one free. All the details are on the blog
Maria Levine can be your chick if you need some Ippity!

Ippity stamps: Music of My Heart, Bloom and Simplify, Angie Girl

Challenges :)

I have been having so much fun doing challenges lately. It doesn't even matter if I win or not....although winning is always fun ;)

This card is for the Die Cuts With a View sketch challenge. I have 2 Christmas stacks and found this striped paper in one of them. Not all the paper in the stacks is just for Christmas.

Next up is for Chick Challenge with Ippity sketch and My Minds Eye monochromatic challenge.
I recently bought a package of doilies and they worked out great for this sketch.

Paper: DCWV
Flower: Michael's dollar bin
Stamp: Ippity Just wanted to Say
embroidery floss
Paper: MME Stella & Rose
Brads: Making Memories
Stamp: Ippity itty bitty
 embroidery floss

The $4.44 sale is still on at Unity. It's also where you can pick up some Ippity. It would be great if you would choose Maria Levine as your Ippity chick :)

My Minds Eye

The July challenge for My Minds Eye is to make a monochromatic card or layout.
I used paper from the Stella and Rose collection. The flower is from the flip side of the background.

Paper: My minds Eye
Butterfly stamps: Martha Stewart
Birthday stamp: Stampin Up
Ink: Colorbox

Hope everyone a a fun 4th! My sister is in town for the summer so we had a cookout and then hubby took some of the kids out to watch the fireworks.

The first card I made using the sketch for Chick Challenge #37. I made the second card for the Ippity challenge to use bright colors.
Since it's going to be HOT this weekend I don't plan on leaving my AC dining room! I'll be making cards for the new Chick challenge and Ippity challenge. I'll also be playing with some new Walmart clearance
This was all on sale for $.50 each on Tuesday! I went back on Thursday and the clearance was down to $.10 each. I bought most of this again and more for me and my sister. The second trip includes ribbon, bling, brads, ink, Elmer's spots, stamps..... She's going to be so happy on her next visit :) I just can't figure out how they put the Smash and Studio G washi tape on sale when they never had it in the store. Oh well, I'm a happy crafter. Since I have almost all the Smash accessories I have to get a Smash book, right??
And speaking of sales...Unity is has 21 kits for $4.44 each!

Enjoy your weekend and KEEP COOL!
