I must be CRAZY!

Hi Everyone!

This week's PaperCrafter's Corner challenge was to use magazines. Any project as long as it used something from a magazine. I had a Self magazine on the table and started looking through it to get some inspiration. The inside cover had a Maybelline ad that had LIVE.LOVE.SMOULDER.IN EXPERT COLOR written down one side. What did I see? LIVE IN COLOR. I took out my art journal and began sketching out shapes. Then I took out my hole punch and began filling in the shapes. This is where the crazy comes in....all those punched dots came from magazines!

Once I added the words I felt like it needed something. BUTTERFLIES! Unity to the rescue. I stamped them on cellophane so the background colors would show through.
Anyway.....I hope everyone has a great week! I'm not looking forward to getting more SNOW on Sunday! Depending on the track of the storm we could get 6" or more of snow. I REALLY want winter to be over!
Maybe I should just shop Unity's sale ;)

One challenge, 2 ways

Hi Everyone!

Papercrafter's Corner has a weekly challenge that I've been wanting to participate in. Usually the week is over before I remember to make something. When I saw their reminder post I sat down to make something. You can make whatever you want for this challenge using the inspiration photo.
The inspiration

First I made a journal page. The heart and wave are hand drawn. I painted it with watercolor crayons. Then I pulled out my stamps...Unity, Making Memories, Tim Holtz. I almost didn't post this. The optional part of the challenge is to use the number 40. (It's their 40th week) When I tried to erase the pencil marks the ink smeared. Then I tried to cover it with a music stamp from 7 Gypsies. That smeared even worse. Out came the gesso. And more painting. Now I like it!
While I was waiting for the gesso to dry I decided to make a card. Just in case the journal page didn't work out.I used the colors from the inspiration to make it. A long time ago dry wall tape was very popular for papercrafting. Companies began making it in different colors for scrapbooking. I remembered I had a roll in orange and that started the process for my card.

If you ever want to play along the challenge is posted on Monday.

FWF

Hi Everyone!
I meant to post these last week but I got sidetracked with Valentine's Day.

I had scraps of paper that I cut into strips to create the background on one card and the border on the other. I really like how they turned out. And of course, I used a Unity stamp :)
