FWF March 30

Happy Friday! It's been a busy week. Trips to get hubby's car fixed, trips to take my daughter to and from work, and my son turned 22 on Wednesday! I don't have any idea where those 22 years went.

Today I have a card that I entered in the Chick Challenges and the Ippity challenge. I didn't think I would like doing the sketch from Chick Challenges but I gave it a shot. I was surprised how much I liked the finished card. It's featured in the Ippity blog as a Friday Fav too. Thanks so much!!
The second photo are of two magnets I made. I get different types of magnets all the time. They come in the mail, on phone books, etc. I've been wanting to alter some for a while now and finally did it. I used sentiments from a kit of the month and scraps from my stash. It's a fun way to use up scraps.

The Unity blog has all the details for Friends with Flair and their current sale of 40% off on a lot of stamps. Ippity stamps are included too. Just pick a chick and order.

Have a great week!

FWF

Happy Friday! Today it the last day for the summer like temps. I want to get out and enjoy it so my post today will be quick.

I used a stamp from the Donna Downey Imagine It and one from the Unity kit with sympathy. I'm glad I don't need to use this card but it's good to have on hand. The Donna Downey stamps are one of my favorite Unity co brands. They can be used on so many different types of cards.

There's lots going on with Unity. Be sure to stop by the blog today. There's FWF and a sale. The sale is 55% of all Marah Johnson, Melody Ross, Simple Stories, and Iron Orchid Designs. And shipping is only $2.95!

Have a GREAT week!!

FWF.....Friends

inside: Then we'll be NEW FRIENDS

When I saw this saying on Pinterest and thought it was so funny. I knew it would make a fun card. When I won the Ippity set 'time for .....friends & wine' from Crystal at Chick Challenges with Ippity I knew it would be perfect for the card.

I haven't been making any cards lately. I bought a few (5 of them) little birdhouses on a whim and I've been having fun with them. I've been painting, sanding, and adding some  decoupage to them. I'll post them when they're all done.

If you're in need of some new stamps Unity is having a St. Patrick's day sale! And, of course, all the fun and inspiration of Friends with Flair!

FWF This weeks cards

I found some ColorBox nested inkpads on clearance at Pat Catans this week and bought 4 of them. Three of them were chalk inks. Of course, I had to try them out. The birthday card and the get well card were done with the chalk inks. I really like the look.

I also have a tip for you this week. When I bought the inks i didn't notice that some of the inkpads were loose till I got them home. I went to show my daughter one of the colors and the inkpad hit the floor. I called Clearsnap customer service to see if there was a way to glue the pad back on. She told me that any super glue type product with cyanoacrylate in it would work. I tried it and it worked.

As you know it's Unity Friday. They have a sale going on with 29 of their older kits marked down to $9 or less. Plus all orders will get a coupon for 29% off next week when they'll have new Ippity and Unity releases.

Have a great weekend!!

FWF-Paper, Scissors, and Ink

It's Friday. Where has the week gone??
For today's card I used 2 Ippity sets....Dots for Sure and Just wanted to Say. I'm entering it in the Chick Challenge with Ippity sketch challenge. I had fun with this one. The tag and scalloped trim are inked to match the dots. I pulled out the deco scissors for the trim. I haven't used them for a loooooong time. And I have lots of them.
The Unity blog has lots going on today. There's FWF, a SALE, and a design team call. I would love to be on their design team but my cards could never be as nice as the current design team.
Have a great weekend everyone!

FWF--Save that rubbah!

You know all that rubber between the stamps you get from Unity? I've been saving it for a while and decided to use it for the border. I just cut random pieces, inked them and then stamped with them. I added the dotted circle stamp and the Happy Birthday stamp from the Blossom stackers kit. I always use black ink somewhere on a card. This time I decided that I would use any color but black. Remember to visit the Unity blog for the Friends with Flair and the latest sales.

3 ATC's

I bought a set of Crayola 24 watercolors and decided to make some ATC's. The first one was stamped with a Unity itty bitty called smile.giggle.laugh. by Simple Stories. The second one has Unity stamps from Donna Downey's Insightful Meadows. The last one was inspired by a Unity video by Angie Blom. It's hand drawn and the Ippity stamp Dots For Sure was used on the right side. Thanks for looking.

FWF-inspired

Happy FWF! I have been sorta, kinda wanting to start an art journal. When I saw Angie Blom's Unity TV video I decided to start. I've had this sketch book for a long, long time and figured it would work. I glued 2 pages together to make the pages a little thicker. I started with a base of Making Memories paints in green and purple...my favorite color combo. I stamped the butterflies from the Webster's Pages dream.Big. Itty Bitty. The letters are from the June 11 KOTM. I cut them apart so I could use the individual letters. This is just the first page and I really enjoyed making it. I'm hoping to keep going with it. Thanks for looking!! Be sure to stop at the Unity blog. There's more blogs to see and of course, a prize to be won. Since it's almost CHA there are lots of fantastic NEW STAMPS on the Unity website. My wishlist is growing!!

FWF-Friday the 13th

Happy Friday! Another week, another Friends with Flair. While cleaning out my daughter's closet I found a bag of mini books. I decided to make a book of birthdays out of one of them. When it's finished it will have one page for the month and the facing page will have a list of the birthdays for that month. After a couple attempts at designing the cover I finally decided on this one. I just had to use my one and only Spellbinders :-) . The kits I used are 'best day ever' and 'simple party' itty Bitty. I also used a dimensional glaze for the first time. I started the pages but I'm not sure yet what I want to do with them other than maybe bordering them with colors that match their birthstone. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Remember to stop by the Unity blog for the rest of the participants. It's also Angela's birthday today. I guess my project today is appropriate! Thanks for looking!

the 1st FWF of 2012

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Mine was filled with lots of family time. Lots & lots of family time. Today's card was made using a Marah Johnson Itty Bitty. I entered it for Unity's Facebook challenge to use an Itty Bitty, but I think facebook ate it. Be sure to stop by the Unity blog to see the rest of the bloggers. So much inspiration!

FWF Penguins

I finally get to do FWF again. I had family in town and I made a couple crochet wraps. Anyway....I used the Tinsel in a Tangle itty bitty. I love this stamp! The second card is from Christmas Eve Chowder. The background and sentiment are from the Nov. kit of the month. Don't forget to check out the Unity blog. Lots of other blogs to see and a couple prizes to be won.

FWF Oct 28, 2011

I made these minis for the Ippity challenge. I used the Ippity kit Kissmas & Mistletoe. If you haven't played yet, you should. Don't forget to check out the Unity blog (www.theunitystampco.blogspot.com) for all the other FWF participants...there's a prize for commenters and participants.

FWF

I was wandering through YouTube and found a couple videos about using stamps to dry emboss on vellum. I took out my vellum and gave it a try. I used the snowman from Kissmas & Mistletoe set. Although I like it I think smaller images would work better. For the second card I just dry embossed the pattern in the vellum and added some little flowers.

2 cards :-)

I started making a card for the Unity KOTM sketch challenge. I kept playing with different papers and stamps and finally came up with this one.

While I was trying to figure out what to do for the challenge I came up with this one:

I used different colors of ink on the stamps and then edged them in brown. I really had fun making them. I embossed the quotes on both cards. I used Martha Stewart embossing in evergreen on the first card and antique gold on the second.

If I don't get to make another card for the Unity challenge (it's using leaves), I'll enter the second card in that challenge.

FWF!!

This is just a quick card I made for today. I used the Unity/Melody Ross "all worth it" set. I even used the frame to make the faux ribbon. All the details for Friends with Flair can be found here. Thanks for looking! I'll be (hopefully) hopping later.

It's been a while...

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post! It has been a busy summer. My daughter had her prom, graduation ceremony & graduation party. My sister came up from Florida for a visit that lasted about 6 weeks :) My kids are now learning to drive. And I made this afghan in white for my niece who is having a girl in October. As far as card making goes, I've only made 2 cards. That has to change. I miss my Unity stamps. I am hoping to get some done soon. Till then, thanks for reading & hopefully understanding.
