PCC #116 and FWF

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a good week. For me, it was busy. I decided to break up and organize all my Kit of the Month stamps from Unity. I'm also stamping them all to but in a half pint album. Lots of work but it will be worth it. As sets I tended to use the stamps together. Now that they're separated I'll hopefully use more of them. I do have a question regarding the sentiments/quotes. Besides the obvious birthday, thank you types, what categories would you make? Quotes, words, etc...?

My daughter was home for the weekend too. After we picked her up we stopped at Primanti's to eat. It's an awesome place to eat. They're known for putting coleslaw and fries on a sandwich. YUM! Great food, value, and service.

Now, on to the reason for this post. This is week #116 at PaperCrafters Corner. And here is this week's inspiration:

Here's my cards:

I picked out this pretty Authentique paper to pick up the yellow and grey in the inspiration. The yellow print is the reverse of the main paper. Then I picked out 2 inks, sequins, Spellbinders, and stamps. Two cards done!

Have you shopped the sale & new releases at Unity yet? See them here: http://www.unitystampco.com/

Have a GREAT WEEK!

PCC #115 & FWF Tuesday

Hi Everyone!

First off: HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPH!!

I am really happy with this week's PaperCrafters Corner inspiration challenge

It's about ADULT COLORING BOOKS! SO, there's a twist. There are extra requirements.
At least one of these must be used....

*coloring *crayons *a coloring book page *a coloring book character *Crayola colors *a story about coloring as a kid *pictures of you coloring *melted wax

I don't know about you but I love this idea of adult coloring books. I found one at TJ Maxx called Inspired Coloring Patterns that I just HAD to buy. I've colored a few pages already. Once I started coloring, the pages started falling out. No problem. I was going to make cards with some of the pages anyway. Like these guy cards....

I colored this page a while ago....at night....in poor lighting. I recolored it today....in good lighting. Besides, I wanted it darker. I used Faber-Castell crayons. I had one problem when making these cards...ADHESIVE DOESN"T STICK TO WAX! Time to get creative with brads and staples. I haven't used them in ages. Good thing they're masculine. :)
All the sentiments are Unity and the ink is Colorbox.

Unity Stamps is moving their Friends With Flair to Tuesday!! It's also the day they will start their SALES. Check out the blog for all the details.

PCC #114 and my crafty day

Hi Everyone!

This is week #114 at PaperCrafters Corner!

When I first saw this week's inspiration all I could think was 'what am I going to do with this?'I don't travel anywhere. I could have gone with the colors but I wasn't thrilled with them. I didn't think I was going to enter this week.....until I saw the pattern in the border. I had a Gelli print with that same pattern!
You should give this challenge a try. :)

While I had my Gelli prints out I made 2 more cards.

All the cards use Unity stamps.

I've had a lot of time to create lately. My daughter is away at school, hubby works everyday, and until I have my eye surgery I can't drive. Since I'm home I thought I would show you what happens when I get crafty.

As you can see from the photo I worked on my scrapbook, made some cards, and pulled out way too much!
I started off  working on my scrapbooks. The table was fairly clear....at first. When I pocket scrapbook I first put in all the pictures. Then the cards. Then the embellishments. Then the journaling. I really don't like the last step. I used to use my computer for the journaling  but my printer decided it doesn't like card stock. So, lately I've been using (GASP) my own handwriting! That's something I didn't think I would EVER do.  That's a good thing, right?

Ok, back to the scrapbook for me! This one covers 4 years ('96-'99) and is almost done. Hopefully I won't get too lost in the memories :)
See you next time!!

PCC #113 and FWF

Hi Everyone!

I took a break for cleaning to make a few cards. First up is this inspiration from PaperCrafters Corner.

I knew I had paper with pine trees but I couldn't find it. But.....I did find another pretty green printed paper. :)

I have no idea when I got this paper. It's been a long while. I used the swiss dot embossing folder, Spellbinders die, and a Unity stamp from Everything Wonderful. I also did something I don't normally do. I made two of this card. I'm not sure why I rarely make multiples of cards.

These next few cards are only because I bought new stamps from Unity that came in while I was making the sympathy cards.

This card is another 'happy accident' I was trying to stamp the flowers on a scrap piece of cardstock so I could cut them out. As you can see I didn't get the whole image. I tried 3 times! I gave up. I went ahead and colored them in with Spectrum Noirs. If anything it was practice. My practice turned into this card.
Unity Stamps: Loving Today, Let Your Dreams Bloom

My niece came over a couple weeks ago looking for a baby card. I didn't have any. None. Unity had a few on sale and I bought a couple sets. This dress one was only $1! I used the Queen and Co washi tape that I won from PaperCrafters Corner, Prismacolor pencils, and Spellbinders to make this quick card.
Unity stamps: Tiny Little Gal, Hello Little One

On this card I used Unity & Susan K Weckesser's new stamps set 'In My Garden" I just recently found out that Prismacolor pencils color on black! Who knew? I stamped everything with Colorbox frost white. I LOVE this sentiment!!

Have a GREAT week!

PCC #112

Hi Everyone!

This past week was busy for me. I had to help get my daughter all packed up for school. That girl has a lot of STUFF!
Anyway, I now have time to get this week's PaperCrafters Corner challenge done.

I went with the pastel color scheme and the balloons to create my card.

I used the Zig Photo Twin markers to color the Unity stamp. I have had these markers for a long, long time and they haven't dried out. Amazing.

Have a great week!!

PCC weeek #111

Hi Everyone!

I wasn't sure I was going to create anything for this week's PaperCrafters Corner challenge. My sister left to visit her great granddaughter in Tennessee before heading home to Florida. My daughter heads back to school on Thursday so we're working on getting her packed. It's amazing what college kids take these days. Too much!
But, I've been thinking about this week's inspiration....

I had this idea in my head and just HAD to try it.

I made this card using my Coluzzles and Spellbinders die. I like the way it turned out.

I started this post on one laptop and finished it on my new one. Yep, it finally came!

Have a great week!

PCC #110 and Gelli fun!

Hi Everyone!

I had 2 HOT days without any visitors. So I stayed close to the air conditioner and got some crafting time in. :)

Here is the PaperCrafter Corner inspiration cover for this week.

I was drawn to the colorful bathing suits. I knew I had a Unity bathing suit stamp that hasn't seen any ink soooo.....

I masked and stamped the suit then colored them in with Prismacolor pencils.

While shopping this week I picked up some paint from Walmart to use with my Gelli plate. I picked up a few Decoart Andy Skinner at Pat Catan's too.

Two of these prints are happy accidents. When I took off the lids of the copper Ranger dauber the dauber and some paint fell out of the bottle. I grabbed the stencil and applied the paint with my fingers. :) The excess created a second print. BONUS!

Here are the cards I made from them.....

The note and birthday are the accidents. All the cards use Unity stamps and Spellbinders.

I hope you have a great creative week!

PCC #109

Hi Everyone!

I wasn't sure I would get a card done this week, but I did :)

This is a great summer image from Papercrafters Corner. For my card I decided to just us the orange color with white.

I used scraps of orange paper, Spellbinders' embossing folder and label die, and a Unity stamp.
Quick and easy.

Hopefully I'll see you next weekend. It's my Florida sister's last week here. :(

PCC #108

Hi Everyone!

I'm still without a desktop and if I don't get busy, I'll be without a laptop too. Anyway....it's week 108 at PaperCrafters Corner!

There are so many possibilities with this image. I chose the ice cream cone. I even had some Dear Lizzy paper with ice cream cones in it.

Once I realized I didn't want the patterned paper to cover the whole background it came together quickly. The stamp I used, of course, is Unity.

I finally broke down and bought a Gelli plate. I bought the 3x5 just to see if I liked it. I don't. I LOVE IT! It's so much fun trying to figure out what will happen. I bought some index cards from the dollar store to practice on.

My favorite one was the blue print using a DCWV stencil.

I even used paint to color the Unity stamp. You'll probably see more of these Gelli prints in future posts.

That's it for me this week. It's hot and time to make dinner (without using the oven).

Have a GREAT week & keep cool.

PCC 107

Hi Everyone!

I still don't have my desktop. But at least this week I can use the family laptop.
This weeks inspiration was a little harder for me.

So I just used the colors. The technique I used for the background is very easy. Take an acrylic block and add ink straight from the ink pad. Give it a spritz of water and stamp it on your paper. You can repeat it as many times as you like.

Here is another card that I made using 2 sizes of acrylic blocks.

I hope you decide to join in the PaperCrafters Corner challenge this week.

PCC 105 and FWF

Hi everyone!
My desktop died so this will be brief. :(

This week's inspiration at PaperCrafter's Corner:

My card:
I finally inked up the cupcake stamp. I used the Kuretake watercolors that I won from PaperCrafter's Corner Mother's Day giveaway. I'm in LOVE with them.

These cards are also colored with the Kuretake.

Inspired by Unity's Jolande

All the stamps are Unity.
Have  a GREAT week!

PCC #104

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick post today. My Florida sister is on her way to my house.  This week's Papercrafterscorner.com inspiration is so fun:
I used the flowers for my card:
Unity stamps and Derwent Inktense blocks.

Have a great week. I'm going to try to get my sister to play along while she's in town. :)

PCC #103

Hi everyone!

So much inspiration. I picked the watermelon. I've had a watermelon stamp from a Unity kit that has never seen any ink.

I used watercolor pencils for the stamp and the outer edge of the tag. The ribbon is from my stash that I've had for a long time.
I like these challenges for lots of reasons. but, the main one is that I will sometimes use stamps, papers, or other supplies that otherwise go unused.
The little easel is from Stephanie. It's so CUTE and Perfect for displaying my cards for their photo shoot. :)
There is another challenge that has been going on over on Instagram hosted by Kathy Racoosin from the Daily Marker. . It's to color something every day in June. Check it out...@kathyrac and #thedailymarker30day2. Here are some of the things I did:

Look me up on Instagram to see more. @jpscraps

Have a great week and keep cool.

PCC #102

Hi Everyone!
It's another fun week at PaperCrafters Corner.

From this inspiration I took the blues and the grasses and created a sympathy card.

Although it's hard to tell in the photo the background is chalked using blues and grey.
And, thanks Steph for the mini easel. It's perfect for photographing my cards. :)

Have a great week!
